Abandoned Cats Rescue (ACR) is the longest established cat rescue group in the Hamilton area. We're a Canadian Registered Charity that is entirely volunteer operated and donor funded. We respond to requests to help abandoned and neglected cats, strays, and pets needing to be re-homed. All cats and kittens taken into our care are placed in loving foster homes and, prior to being put up for adoption, are vet examined, flea/worm treated, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped and provided with treatments or surgeries for any identified medical issues. We never euthanize an animal in our care unless that animal is suffering and beyond any type of medical help. We believe that there is the perfect home for ALL of our cats and that each of them deserves a chance to be loved forever!
FEATURE CAT - TIGER
We receive so many emails regarding cats belonging to seniors who are no longer able to care for them. Sadly, no other family members are able to assist either. We try to help as many as these cats as we can and Tiger was one of them. This is his story:
Tiger had a loving/caring home and then one day everything changed. The person that was always there for him was gone. I can't imagine what Tiger was thinking. He probably searched the home over and over trying to find them. The owner was in the hospital and would not be returning to his furry companion. For whatever reason, no other member of the family was able to take him.
We were happy to bring this handsome boy into our care. He has only been in the foster home a short time, but they just love him. Who could not fall in love with a face like his!! Tiger has settled in very well and as you can see from the pictures, enjoys sitting on laps for attention. Tiger would make a great companion. He is a very loving, gentle boy.
